There was welcome news on the jobs front as official figures today show unemployment fell for the first time in almost two years. The number out of work in the three months to November dipped by 7,000 to 2.46 million, although the rate remained unchanged at 7.8%. Jobseeker's allowance
claimant numbers fell for the second month in a row in December, down by 15,200 to 1.61 million, the biggest monthly fall since April 2007.

Research by Bright Grey has found that nearly 40 per cent of Britons could not survive for more than one month if faced with redundancy.
In its reality gap report, the protection provider found that 43 per cent of Britons believe they could use their savings to pay the bills following a redundancy, but in reality 38 per cent of the UK’s working population could not survive beyond one month on savings alone, says Bright Grey.

If the current 9.7 percent unemployment rate in the? USA has you worried about the state of your job, it might be in your best interest to purchase redundancy insurance. Very few jobs and positions are considered guaranteed and even fewer people are free from worries about a steady income.
